Run Tampa
Active design.
I had run for three years, two months, 14 days, and 16 hours
Project Overview:
The poster advertisement series was created to promote the annual Run Tampa Walk and Run Race, with the aim of encouraging participation and building excitement for the event. The design strategy focused on using powerful photography and bold typography to evoke a sense of courage, determination, and achievement. The series featured three different color versions—red for Tampa, blue for confidence, and yellow for victory—each carefully chosen to resonate with specific emotions and symbolize key aspects of the race. Additionally, the varied color schemes ensured the posters would stand out in any environment, creating maximum impact regardless of placement.
My Role:
As the designer, I was responsible for conceptualizing and executing the entire poster series, from initial concept to final design. My role involved selecting the photography, determining the typography, and choosing the color palette that would best represent the race’s themes. I worked to ensure the visual elements conveyed the race’s energy and purpose while making sure each version had its own distinct identity. Additionally, I ensured that the posters would be adaptable to various environments, ensuring they stood out wherever they were displayed.
Key Features and Contributions:
- Strong Photography: I selected and incorporated dynamic, action-packed images that captured the essence of the race, portraying participants’ energy and determination.
- Bold Typography: I used powerful, attention-grabbing typography to reinforce the message of courage and strength, ensuring the text was both impactful and readable.
- Color Variations: Created three distinct versions—red to symbolize Tampa, blue for confidence, and yellow for victory—each designed to evoke specific emotions and help the posters stand out in different environments.
- Environmental Adaptability: The use of contrasting colors ensured the posters would create visual contrast and be attention-grabbing, regardless of where they were placed, increasing the effectiveness of the campaign.
Impact:
The poster series successfully captured the spirit of the Run Tampa Walk and Run Race, inspiring courage, confidence, and excitement in potential participants. The strategic use of color ensured that each poster would stand out in a variety of environments, maximizing visibility and engagement. The bold design elements, paired with the symbolism of the colors, helped create a cohesive and memorable campaign that resonated with the audience and contributed to the overall success of the event’s promotion.
